Dreamwave are back with ‘Moon Dogs,’ their new six-track EP, dropping on April 25th via Velvet Echoes.

It’s the first half of a two-part physical release, with Side B coming later this year. To kick things off, the band will be hitting the stage at The Louisiana in Bristol on the same day. ‘Moon Dogs’ shows off a clear step forward for Dreamwave, blending catchy songwriting with dreamy textures and a more expansive sound than ever before.

The EP combines the quirky, danceable vibes of The B-52s with the cosmic atmospheres of Pink Floyd, making for a release that’s both immediate and immersive. Recorded with Dom Bailey-Clay at Nine Volt Leap, it keeps the DIY spirit alive with self-directed videos, hand-drawn artwork, and fully self-produced tracks.

The EP’s opener, ‘Clad Kings,’ lures you in with shimmering layers and a slow build, while ‘Dragging the Rain Down’ brings in some unexpected jazz influences, turning into one of the band’s most carefully crafted tracks yet. Then there’s ‘Polystyrene Irene,’ a punchy burst of garage rock energy, which contrasts perfectly with the more laid-back, introspective moments. ‘Wide Shooter’ has quickly become a fan favorite, especially live, with audiences even picking up on the choreography from the music video.

The band’s live shows have been earning them a reputation for their performances. ‘Polystyrene Irene’ gets the crowd moving, while ‘Clad Kings’ holds the room in a trance before jumping right back into chaos. After their Bristol show, Dreamwave will head to London for a set at The Shacklewell Arms on May 2nd and then make their EU debut at Blockparty Festival in Paris on May 30th and 31st. Recent airplay on BBC Radio 6 Music and buzz from tastemakers show that Dreamwave’s momentum is building. ‘Moon Dogs’ is just the beginning!!
