Panic Shack Announce Debut Album with Riotous New Single ‘Girl Band Starter Pack’
Cardiff punk quartet Panic Shack have kicked the door in on their debut album rollout with ‘Girl Band Starter Pack,’ a breakneck burst of sass, sweat, and Saturday night chaos.
The track is the first taste of their self-titled debut Panic Shack, due July 18 via Brace Yourself Records.
Opening like the soundtrack to a boozy group chat, … clinking glasses, background banter, and the electric hum of a night about to spiral, … ‘Girl Band Starter Pack’ doesn’t waste time getting to the point. It’s funny, fast, and loud in all the best ways, channeling the band’s no-bullshit ethos through fuzzy riffs and a wicked side-eye at every cliché thrown their way.
In the video, Panic Shack pass the mic (and the wigs) to a cast of Cardiff’s fiercest drag queens—Jolene Dover, Bopa Rhys, CiCi, and Lasagne Sheets—who play the band for a night out on the town, turning the group’s already chaotic energy up another notch. Directed by Ren Faulkner, it’s a glittery, tongue-in-cheek celebration of the scene that raised them.
Panic Shack have always made punk feel like a party—rowdy but inclusive, silly but sharp. If ‘Girl Band Starter Pack’ is any indication, their debut album is set to be both a love letter to their hometown and a call to arms for anyone sick of being underestimated.
Pre-order Panic Shack’s debut album, out July 18th, now—don’t miss it!
