Romi Peles Unveils ‘Deep Inside the Ocean’ Ahead of New Album ‘Break Up Album’

Composer and producer Romi Peles will release his third album, ‘Break Up Album,’ on June 13.

Known for his exploratory instrumental work, Peles pivots into more exposed territory here, trading expansive soundscapes for intimate, vocal-driven songwriting. The result is a deeply felt collection shaped by years of personal upheaval.

“These songs have been with me for a long time,” Peles says. “They carry the weight of a breakup, the grief of losing people I love—especially my cousin Roy—and the ongoing tension of living as an artist.”

Today, he shares the album’s second single, ‘Deep Inside the Ocean.’ A woozy, melancholic reflection on distance and disconnection, the track traces the slow dissolve of a once-close relationship. “It’s about watching someone you loved turn into a stranger,” he explains. Initially produced in 2021, the song was revisited two years later with a new rap verse and final touches that cemented its shape.

‘Break Up Album’ was self-produced by Peles and mastered by Stephen Marcussen (Red Hot Chili Peppers, Stevie Wonder). It marks a major shift in Peles’ sonic vocabulary, blending his psychedelic roots with stark, emotionally direct lyricism.
