‘Sivuv’ by REFAIM | New Album, ‘Heut’

REFAIM’s debut album ‘Heut’ is a swirling, sun-soaked trip that came together over one humid weekend and somehow captures the wild magic of that moment. Today, they present ‘Sivuv.’

Out May 23 via Sound Effect Records, it’s born from a shared love of animism, ancient rituals and mind-expanding music, the band blends everything from hypnotic kraut grooves to heavy-lidded psych and raw punk energy.

Guitar lines drift and pulse like heatwaves, rhythms lock into deep meditative pockets, and the whole thing feels alive—like it’s breathing. You can hear echoes of bands like Kikagaku Moyo, Spacemen 3, Dead Skeletons and Wooden Shjips, but REFAIM’s sound is all their own.

It’s got that messy, intuitive, live energy that can’t really be faked. Mixed and mastered by Erik Wofford (The Black Angels, Holy Wave), ‘Heut’ feels less like a debut and more like a fully formed vision.
